NOTES: Our “universal fit” pallet rack U-Dividers work with vista green Interlake teardrop uprights, royal blue Mecalux teardrop uprights, uprights with holes on sides, uprights with no holes on sides of column. The only uprights these will not work with are structural c-channel uprights. If you have structural uprights let us know as we can manufacture a custom U-Divider that will work with those as well. These front-to-back U-Dividers (AKA transverse flue space dividers) attach to the pallet rack upright frame instead of the beam. There are two distinct flue spaces in the selective pallet rack system: one that is behind the rack and runs behind the pallets and the other is the side flue space. Both must be protected.
These flue spacers keep pallets a safe distance away from one another, allowing for proper airflow in case of a fire. They let overhead sprinklers work at max capacity helping prevent fires from spreading in your warehouse. Many Fire Marshals, Building Inspectors and Municipalities are requiring flue keepers in pallet rack systems. In some cases, pallet rack spacers can even reduce your insurance rates.

The front-to-back U-Dividers shown on this page attach to the vertical uprights frames of your pallet rack system. They help you maintain a consistent 3″ transverse flue space between pallets stored in pallet racks. The U Dividers along with our Patented Single Pallet Safety Stops (for single rows of rack) and the Double Pallet Safety Stops (for back to back rows of rack) give you the 3″ flue space that allows for overhead sprinklers to work at full capacity in the event of a fire.
NOTE FROM THE PRO’S: Each U-Divider comes with (2) – L-Bolts and (4) tek screws. The two L-Bolts are to be used if your upright frame has holes on the sides of the column. If your upright frame doesn’t have holes in the sides of the column you can use the 4 tek screws to secure U-Dividers, simply screw the tek screws through pre-drilled holes in end plate of U-Divider. This why we call them “Universal Fit”.
