Traditional Quick-Pik style carton flow racking that utilizes u-shaped metal tracks and plastic wheels that form a flow bed that integrates into pallet rack. QuickPik is considered the industry standard in carton flow racking. it can be provided with straight 3″ wide pallet rack style H frame uprights or slant back uprights with 2″ wide column.

Carton flow rack helps you increase density and picking efficiency in your warehouse. They are often placed near conveyor lines to aid in order picking. Traditional QuickPik carton flow utilizes upright frames, shelf frames/beds (either KD or welded), sway braces (or beams), U-shaped roller tracks that have plastic wheels, dividers and header.

Newer forms of carton flow increase density, efficiency, durability and life span while reducing maintenance cost. They include span track full width rollers and staggered skate wheel conveyor systems that keep innovating but there will always be a market need for traditional carton flow racking with plastic wheels. The advantage is the low cost. The disadvantage is the maintenance of having to replace damaged plastic wheels.

Rack integrated carton beds are designed to fit and be supported by standard pallet racking. It can be single deep or double deep carton flow beds. The flow beds simply mount into holes on side of uprights and are supported by the front, back and in some cased interior step beams.

Tip From the Pro’s: “The two most popular sizes are 8′ w. x 8′ d. x 8′ h with 4-5 flow shelf levels. 4 shelf levels is most popular. 7 flow lanes per shelf including 6 dividers. We recommend 3 tracks per lane for heavy boxes but 2 tracks per lane is most popular. Second most popular size is 8′ w. x 4′ d. x 8′ h. Both of these sizes are in stock for quick shipment. We can supply other sizes with a longer lead time.

You may like the initial cost savings of traditional plastic wheel carton flow systems but big distribution operations are switching to staggered wheel carton flow systems which offer greater flexibility and durability at a much greater price.”
