Our Teardrop Coil Storage Rack system is great for two primary application: If you have light to medium weight coils (meaning coils that weigh 1,000 – 6,000 LBS) or if you are located on the West Coast. Our roll form teardrop coil rack system is manufactured in San Diego, CA so ther is lots of freight savings if you are located on the West Coast. By nature, teardrop roll formed pallet rack is not as strong as structural pallet rack, therefore we recommend our Teardrop coil racks for use with lighter weight coils.
If you have coils that weigh 9,000 – 10,000 LBS we recommend you use our heavy duty strutural steel coil rack system. But if coil weight is lighter there is tremendous savings you can derive from using our Teardrop style coil rack system. The rack is designed around the size and weight of your coils. We ask that you tell us the diameter (outside diameter measured on side with the eye), width (or depth) and weight of your coils. Depending on the weight we will design the rack to accomodate one or two coils wide per shelf as shown in featured pictures.
Coil racks are ideal for organizing your coils, protecting your coils from damage when bulk stacked on the floor and allowing you to regain valuable floor space. Clean up that mess of coils you have laying on the floor and store them vertically in coil racks. The coil cradles are designed to fit the diameter of your coils. Coil cradles just drop over the beams and remain fixed to beams supporting coils in stored position. Beam levels are adjustable giving you lots of flexibilty in storing coils of different sizes.
Our teardrop coil storage rack system can be designed to store coils of different sizes, weights and materials. As we’ve learned through experience, coil racks can be designed to not only hold coils of steel but coils of wire, coils of plastic film, coils of many different materials.
