In addition to our stackable window and door racks we now offer a rackable, non-stackable window rack that can be transported by a forklift and stored in pallet rack. These racks are very popular with window and door manufacturers, distributors, homebuilders and millwork companies. What is the difference in a stackable and non-stackable window & door rack you may ask? The difference is in the feet and runners. We must remove the feet and add steel runners to the base of our portable window racks. The 4 way steel runners distribute the weight when the rack is stored in pallet racking.
When it comes to Rackable Window Transport Racks, we have the expertise to make sure this is done right. You can’t just store any window rack on the shelf of pallet rack. That could be dangerous. The feet of a standard pallet rack creates point loading that can destroy the decking of your pallet rack. Our rackable window racks have steel runners that are flush to the floor and distribute the weight over the shelf. We can even design the size of the rack and runners to extend over the front and back horizontal orange load beams of your pallet rack system which allows the load beams to support the weight.
Not all window racks are nestable or stackable. Some customers prefer to store their window and door racks on the shelves of their pallet rack system. What is the advantage of using window and door transport stands? Selectivity. By storing your window racks in pallet rack you can select and pick any bundle of windows at any time. While stackable window and door racks (AKA Window and Door Stack Racks) are nested on top of one another and top one must be removed first. With stackable window racks you can’t select and pick any rack at any time. Did I mention that we can provide both the pallet rack and the rackable window racks together?
Our window racks are portable because they can be picked up by a forklift, transported throughout the warehouse, heck, they can even be loaded on a truck and delivered to another warehouse or the jobsite. Portable window racks make excellent window shipping racks. They can help you cube out a trailer allowing you to more densely store windows in transit. The result is that you can transport more windows in a single truckload. And I forgot to mention that the window rack helps protect the windows and prevents damage in handling.
