Top hat pallet supports are designed to set down into a 1-5/8″ step beam and sit flush with the top of the beam.
Introducing our hottest new steel pallet rack support, the “Hat Style Pallet Support.” It is called “Hat Style” because the profile resembles the shape of a top hat. We stock thousands of them at multiple shipping locations across the country. No doubt we sell thousands of them as well. In fact, we commonly sell 10,000 crossbar pallet rack supports at a time.
The reason the hat style support has become so popular is the low cost. It is the least expensive pallet support crossbar that we sell. It is a less expensive alternative to double flanged pallet supports and wire decking. You will save thousands of dollars using top hat supports compared to other alternatives. You can also even save money on freight since we can fit up to 500 pieces per pallet.
The biggest advantage to the top hat crossbar is that it doesn’t flange or waterfall over the front of the beam. It leaves your beam face completely open and unencumbered allowing you to put labels with stock picking locations and SKU numbers on the face of the beam. This is a big advantage for companies that do a lot of order picking.
The one pitfall, if you will, with the top hat steel pallet rack supports is that they have to be tek screwed into the beam because they sit in the stop of the beam. I don’t want you to get the impression that you drop them in and go. For safety and strength you want to tek screw them into the step beam which will increase labor cost. But you should also be tek screwing the double flanged pallet support as well. We don’t supply the tek screws.
Our hat style supports are the highest quality. Dare I say highest quality pallet supports in the industry. They are 1.4 millimeter steel which is equivalent of 16 GA steel thickness. They have a 2″ top and are four corner rolled where the hat style support gets all of its strength. They have a higher quality pre-galvanized finish that will.
Tip from the Pro’s: We recommend you purchase two per pallet position.
