If you are purchasing pallet rack you can’t forget the row spacers. Pallet rack has a variety of accessories that make it more useful and more safe. For instance there is anchors, pallet supports, wire decking, post protectors BUT none of these accessories is as important as the simple row spacer.
What is a row spacer you may ask? It is a metal bar with holes on each end that is used in the flue space between two rows of pallet rack. It not only adds structural integrity to rack system securing both rows together but it also keeps the back to back rows separated at a uniform spacing. Row spacers keep uprights and flue space between rack rows at a consistent distance all the way down the row.
As a reminder, it is important to install row spacers when rack is first being installed. Good luck trying to fit row spacers into an existing rack system because quite likely the uprights are spaced at varying distances apart from one another. If uprights are not anchored to the floor yet you may be able to move them but take our word for it. Purchase row spacers before you install the rack. It will be much easier. And don’t forget to anchor uprights to the concrete floor.
