Adding steel angle runners to your collapsible wire containers will improve the safety and stability of your pallet rack systems. When placed on pallet racks, wire containers without angle runners can create concentrated pressure points on the decking, potentially damaging the rack and creating a safety hazard. Steel angle runners distribute the weight of the container evenly on the shelf to prevent this and increase the structural integrity of the racking system.
Angle runners can be installed on two sides (2-way) or all four sides (4-way) of a container, depending on your storage needs. Two-way runners should be positioned to lay across the wire decking channel supports for maximum weight distribution. Four-way runners offer more flexibility by allowing containers to be stored in any orientation.
Steel angle runners increase the useful life of wire containers. Their rigid construction provides better protection from damage by forklifts and other equipment compared to flat runners. However, it’s important to note that containers with angle runners are mainly designed for forklift handling.
By incorporating steel angle runners into your wire container storage systems, you can improve safety and increase the useful live of your equipment. Please contact us and let us know how we can help you select the right storage solutions for your warehouse.
