IMPORTANT NOTE: WHEN CHOOSING RUNNERS YOU HAVE SOME OPTIONS. FIRST, YOU MUST PICK BETWEEN 2-WAY STEEL RUNNERS OR 4-WAY STEEL RUNNERS. TWO WAY RUNNERS MUST RUN PARALLEL TO CHANNEL SUPPORTS OF WIRE DECKING. FOUR WAY RUNNERS GIVE YOU MORE WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION AND FLEXIBILITY IN STORING BASKETS ANY DIRECTION IN YOUR RACK. SECONDLY, YOU MUST DECIDE IF YOU WANT FLAT STEEL RUNNERS OR STEEL ANGLE RUNNERS. WHEN MAKING THIS DECSISION YOU MUST DETERMINE IF CONTAINERS WILL BE HANDELD BY PALLET JACKS. THE WHEELS OF PALLET JACK WILL ONLY ROLL OVER FLAT STEEL RUNNERS. STEEL ANGLE RUNNERS ARE STRONGER AND MORE DURABLE BUT MUST ONLY BE HANDLED BY FORKS OF FORKLIFTS.
NOTES: Nobody stocks wire containers with steel runners. they must be custom manufactured. EST LEAD TIME: 10-12 weeks. Ships best way pre-paid & add. Must ship dock to dock. Freight Class 70. FOB: Chicago, IL, Williamsport, PA, Charlotte, NC, Orlando, FL, Dallas, TX, Houston, TX and San Bernardino, CA.
Rackable wire baskets must have steel runners in order to distribute the weight across the shelf and prevent dangerous point loads!
Our rackable wire containers are designed to be customized, making them an ideal choice for businesses looking to streamline their storage processes. Traditional stacked storage often limits access to inventory items, requiring unnecessary movement of containers. By utilizing high-bay pallet racking, you can select and retrieve any wire container at any time, reducing labor costs and increasing operational efficiency.
When adding wire containers, you should consider weight distribution when placing them in pallet racking. Unlike pallets, which distribute weight evenly, wire containers rest on four feet, creating concentrated point loads. To prevent structural failure and accidents, we recommend adding steel runners to the bottom of your containers.
We offer two primary types of steel runners: 2-way and 4-way. The 2-way steel runners need to be positioned parallel to the channel supports of wire decking to ensure containers are stored in a specific orientation. Four-way steel runners provide greater flexibility by letting containers be stored in any direction within the racking system. This makes them perfect for high-turnover environments. You can also choose between flat steel runners and steel angle runners based on your transportation needs. Flat steel runners are compatible with both forklifts and pallet jacks. Steel angle runners provide more strength and durability. They should be handled exclusively by forklifts.
By setting up your wire containers with the right steel runners, you can improve their storage in pallet racking. This configuration improves storage density and access to inventory.
At Warehouse Rack & Shelf, we are committed to helping you realize these benefits while maintaining the structural integrity of your containers and racking system.
