What sets our SK4000 heavy-duty tool & die racks apart from other tool & die racks is the upright column. The SK4000 upright column is made of heavy tubular steel resembling a building column. It is virtually indestructible. If we could make ALL upright columns for racks with the SK4000 tubular upright column we would but it is cost prohibitive unless used for heavy duty applications. You probably won’t be replacing this upright column due to damage as it is so robust.
Storing tools and dies can be really inefficient. They’re heavy, they’re bulky, and they’re not stackable. They can quickly eat up your space and make it hard to maneuver around the floor. Finding the right storage system is essential so you can maximize your storage density at every opportunity!
Our SK4000 Heavy Duty Fixed Structural I-Beam Tool and Die Racks have shelf capacities up to 20,000 LBS per shelf. Yes, that’s right, per shelf! Think of how many dies and tools you could take off the floor and put onto the shelves. Heavy Duty Tool and Die Racks free up your floor space by storing up safely and efficiently.
Structural I-Beam Tool and Die Racks also help keep your workspace safe. They are called fixed racks because the shelves don’t roll out and they are fixed to the floor with anchors. Our Heavy Duty Structural Tool and Die Storage Racks can support tools and dies that weigh up to 20,000 LBS each. These racks are specifically designed for this type of storage. Other racks are not and pose the threat of rack failure. Tool and Die Racks help you clear your floors, which helps to reduce the risk of accidents.
The design and heavy duty materials come together to give you a superior storage option that can stand up to heavy tools and dies. Cold rolled structural I Beams and structural c-channels are used to construct upright frames, beams and shelf supports that are bolted together offering the ultimate in strength. These Heavy Duty Mold and Die Storage Racks have solid steel shelves.
Using Tool and Die Storage Racks can improve the organization of your workspace. By storing up, you have high visibility and can quickly take inventory. With fixed racks, you have a place for everything and everything goes in its place. You’ll enjoy a much cleaner and organized workplace!
Fixed Tool and Die Racks have a number of configurations that can help your maximize your storage density and your efficiency. Removable deck plates and open beam and fork entry bars give you the flexibility you need. Shelf beams can also be adjusted in four-inch increments should your storage needs change. A325 structural bolts attach the shelf beams to the columns to create a system that gives you strength and flexibility at the same time.
Die storage racks are commonly used by HVAC manufacturers, automotive parts manufacturers, stamping companies and tool and die shops. Tools and dies are taken out of the stamping presses, transported and stored in die racks. Get dies off the floor and into racks and recapture your floor space.
Choosing the right tool and die storage is not just good for you, it’s good for what you’re storing too! Tools and dies can be damaged if they’re left on the floor and not stored properly. Talk about an expensive headache!
Our client, an automotive parts manufacturer, wanted 4 individual die racks, with four shelves each. Their dies weigh from 4,000-7200 LBS each. They store 1 or 2 dies per shelf. This required a max shelf capacity of 14,400 LBS per shelf. Our units meet and exceed their requirements with 20,000 LBS capacity per shelf level. Our units are custom engineered to support your loads.
If you store dies and tools, then Heavy Duty Structural I-Beam Tool and Die Racks are a must have. They will help you transform your space and take back your floor. They’ll also improve safety and organization in your workspace. Give us a call today at 1-800-763-9020 to discuss your options.
TIP FROM THE PRO’S: Tool & Die Rack Shelf Capacity is based on uniform distributed load. If storing tools and dies on blocks we recommend you switch to full length runners that span from front to back of shelf to distribute the weight. Beams have allowable deflection is L/180. Ideally depth of rack should match depth of tool & die and loads should be placed over beams as well.
