Our specialty is offing corrugated steel containers with crane lifting lugs for hoisting. We add specially reinforced corners and 4″ x 7″ Lifting lugs with 2.5″ holes in the four corners of the steel bin. This adds an additional 10 LBS to the weight of the unit.
Corrugated steel containers with lifting lugs are idea for applications where you are lifting them with overhead cranes. They can also be lifted and transported with a forklift truck. They are very versatile and durable enough to last many years in the toughest industrial applications.
To be specific, the corrugated steel bulk storage bin comes with a set of four 3/8″ thick, 4″ x 7″ hoisting lugs that have a 2-1/2″ hole. The are welded on the widest sides of the container by default. We cannot add these lifting lugs to a corrugated steel container with a drop gate or hopper front, as that would take away from the structural integrity required to lift.
These corrugated steel totes with crane lugs are made in accordance with ANSI MH 261-2004 for industrial metal containers, with no other lifting certifications otherwise. Although these lifting corrugated steel containers are not rated for overhead lifting, we can assure you that they have been tested and can lift 1-1/2 times the rated capacity of the container.
