What is a bay in a warehouse? A bay of pallet racking, also known as a section or unit, consists of two upright frames, adjoining beams and possibly pallet supports or decking. We offer a variety of pallet rack accessories to customize your pallet rack and make it more efficient and useful for your needs.
It is very helpful if the customer can speak the same language as the rack dealer. This will allow the rack dealer to provide you with exactly what you need. Let’s start with the term “Bay”. A “bay” is one free standing unit or section of pallet rack that consists of two uprights and adjoining beams.
Pallet Rack bays are modular and therefore can attached to one another to create a “Run” or “Row”. To be specific, there are “Starter Bays” and “Add-on Bays”. The difference is that a starter bay has two upright frames and an add-on bay has just one upright frame. An “Add-on Bay” must be attached to a “Starter bay”.
Pallet rack is termed “pallet rack” because it is deigned to store palletized loads that are loaded and unloaded with forklifts. It is a heavy duty pallet shelving for use in warehouses, manufacturing facilities and big box retail stored. It is not necessary that you store pallets in pallet rack. It can also be used as a heavy duty shelving unit.
TIP FROM THE PRO’S: For example, a proper description of pallet rack proposed layout could be the following:
