Wire decking with inverted channels is designed for food applications!

It’s required by the FDA that food products on palletized loads be stored on wire decking with inverted channel supports. The inverted channel support are turned the opposite way of standard wire decking. The U-Shaped channel is facing downward and cannot collect dust, dirt and food particles. The inverted channell is flat at the top and therefore will not collect debris.

A wire mesh shelving system with inverted channels is popular with food distributors. Inverted channel wire decking prevents dust and debris from settling in the channels. It helps keep your facility clean and safe. It really doesn’t add much to the cost of the wire decking. You simply turn the channel the other way. But it is a custom feature that will require an 8-10 week lead time.

The inverted step channel wire deck is our most popular inverted wire mesh shelving system. Inverted channel wire decking is commonly found in warehouses within the food distribution industry.  The inverted channel is designed to fit a standard 1-5/8” step beam of a selective pallet rack system. If your beam doesn’t have a standard 1-5/8” step than you should buy inverted flared wire decks.
