If you have a back-to-back row of pallet rack and need decking to cover the flue space you’ve come to the right place. We offer “Flue Deck” which is the term we use for wire decking that covers the flue space in a back-to-back row. This gives complete coverage which is ideal when you are storing long items front to back on a shelf.

Unfortunately, it’s not as easy as just selling you a Flue Deck. In most cases Flue Decks cannot be retrofit with customers exiting decks unless their existing decks are inside waterfall wire decking (See bottom of this page for info on inside waterfall wire decking).

It’s not as easy as dropping a flue deck into customer’s existing rack and wire decking system. In order for us to supply Flue Decking the customers must buy the entire shelf level of decking from us for it to work. The flue decks must be provided along with special wire decking as a complete package.

To give you a peak behind the curtain to see how the magic happens, a glimpse at the Wizard of Oz so to speak, let me tell you how this is done. If you have roll formed pallet rack with standard 1-5/8″ step beam’s we provide a combination of inside waterfall wire decking (no waterfall) on the beams and a waterfall flue deck to cover the flue.

A Flue Deck has waterfall front & back with no bottom finishing wire along the bottom of the waterfall so the mesh of flue deck sets down flush with other decks. A shelf level that covers a back-to-back rack consists of three individual decks (For example): 42″ deep inside waterfall wire deck + 12″ flue space deck + 42″ deep inside waterfall wire deck.

If you have structural rack with c-channel beams that changes things. Flue Space Wire Decking for structural rack must be provided in two large decks that measure 46″ wide x 96″ deep and cover the entire 96″ wide x 96″ deep shelf level (or beam level). The disadvantage of having two large decks is they are big, heavy, harder to lift, harder to handle and harder to install.

Question, does your flue space carry weight? If so, we need to provide additional supports underneath. We typically provide our Flue decks with zero capacity.

NOTE: Please see attached flue space specification sheet. It would be very helpful if you completed and sent back flue deck spec sheet when requesting a quote.

WARNING: Shelf levels with wire decking are not meant to be walked on or stepped on. Doing so is very dangerous.
