If you’re storing wire baskets in pallet rack you’d better have channel supports for their feet…or you’ll have a point load situation and a potential accident on your hands!

Skid channel supports (AKA Skid Rails)are designed to go front to back over the beams of a selective pallet rack system. They’re constructed of upside down channel that creates a rail that supports the legs of feet of a container. When you’re storing wire baskets, wire containers and steel containers that have feet in your pallet rack system be sure to add skid rails or channel supports.

If you do not use skid channels to support the feet of container stored in your rack system you could have a dangerous situation. Pallet rack beams and wire decking is not designed to support point loads. Point loads are created when you have the entire load coming down on a point or points (such as the legs or feet of a container). This could cause the beams or decking to fail.

Skid Channel Supports are a heavy duty front to back rack shelf support for basket & containers stored in racking. Channel supports may alleviate the need to custom make baskets with runners in racking situations!

Skid Channel Features and Benefits:
• Span front to back over the 1-5/8″ step beams of a pallet rack system
• Two are placed under each container
• They are typically 36″, 42″ or 48″ in length
